Supporting KiwiHarvest – our work so far!

In June, we announced our intent to support KiwiHarvest.

Since then we’ve been working through the opportunities for us to make a difference (in here, and out there) with the KiwiHarvest team – and we’ve already made real progress!

Here’s a snapshot of our support so far…

Product donations and distressed product : We have been able to offer KiwiHarvest more than $100,000 worth of product that is being donated to communities from Whangaparoa to Pukekohe.

Thirty pallets of Just Juice have been delivered to KiwiHarvest and redistributed to 65 recipient agencies and another 37 pallets are being stored at Wiri and “drip fed” to KiwiHarvest.

Loan of chillers for a range of events, including the School of Hard Knocks – enabling KiwiHarvest to support their students with breakfasts and lunches – and Britomart Sustainability Event, enabling food donations from Britomart food businesses to KiwiHarvest.

Onsite storage at Wiri – KiwiHarvest’s Ellerslie base has limited space for product – so we’ve been able to offer some storage for food packaging that might otherwise have been turned away. We’ve also donated paper cups for KiwiHarvest events which are being shared with Auckland City Mission.

KiwiHarvest manager Maria Madill says the enthusiasm, support and passion for KiwiHarvest’s purpose from Frucor Suntory has been overwhelming.

“We are so grateful, as are all of the people in communities across Auckland. Your generosity has already touched many thousands of people from the goodness we can share.

“The in-kind support from your volunteers, the amazing logistics team, and the expo sales teams – everyone we have interacted with is just so helpful and willing.

“This support means we can say “YES!” You are an enabler for goodness to be spread across our city where fellow Kiwis are doing it very tough, it’s very real. As are our thanks to the whole team.”
